Quick answer
Regular gentle cleaning, proper storage away from heat and moisture, and careful battery handling will keep your BUBBLE BOBBLE Pocket Player running smoothly for years.
Why routine care matters for your Pocket Player
The BUBBLE BOBBLE Pocket Player packs three classic titles into a compact, ergonomic design. A little preventive maintenance goes a long way to preserve its full-color display and responsive controls, so you can enjoy BUBBLE BOBBLE, its sequel, and RAINBOW ISLANDS without interruption.
Common wear points to watch
The screen and buttons are the most used parts. Dust and oils from your hands can build up over time, affecting both appearance and feel. The USB charging port can also collect lint, which may prevent proper charging.
Diagnosis and care steps
- Symptom: Screen looks smudged or dim: Power off the device. Wipe the screen gently with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth slightly dampened with water. Avoid any cleaning agents or alcohol, which can damage the display coating.
- Symptom: Buttons feel sticky or unresponsive: Turn off the Pocket Player. Use a dry cotton swab to carefully clean around each button. For stubborn residue, lightly moisten the swab with isopropyl alcohol (70% or less) and dab—do not soak. Let the device dry completely before turning it on.
- Symptom: Device won't charge or hold a charge: Check the USB port for lint or debris. Use a wooden toothpick or a can of compressed air to gently dislodge any buildup. If the issue persists, try a different USB cable and power source. If it still won't charge, the battery may need professional replacement—contact My Arcade support. Stop here if the device still fails to charge after cleaning the port. Do not attempt to open the casing yourself.
