Data East Hits Micro Player

The build quality on this little unit is solid for the price, and the screen is bright enough to make the old Data East games feel surprisingly playable. Slipped it into my jacket pocket for a commute and had a blast with a few quick rounds. If you're after a compact nostalgia hit, this delivers.

I was worried the screen would be too small to enjoy, but the classic Data East lineup plays surprisingly well on this little unit. The collectible size makes it perfect for my desk at work, and the nostalgia hit is real every time I boot up a round.

The button layout feels just right for quick pick-up sessions, and the collectible casing has a nice weight to it. I’ve spent a whole evening hopping between the classic Data East titles without any hand cramping, which is more than I can say for my phone.
